Hello everyone and welcome to Sporks Up! Sporks Up is the brand new line of entries here at The Bakit List wherein we would talk about, you guessed it, sporks!- - -no, wait, that should be- - - we would talk about food! Just a disclaimer though, I am no food expert, nor did I finish any culinary related courses. I do however, love food, both eating AND actually cooking food. So while I may not be the most qualified person to talk about food, I am not entirely clueless about it either!
For our inaugural entry, we'd talk about a brand new food location that's creating buzz online! Get your sweet tooth ready as we talk about SugarTalk!

SugarTalk is a brand new store which opened just last March 16, 2015. They are located at MPS Commercial Center, Don Manuel Banzon Ave., DFS, City of Balanga. Or if you are not that good with addresses, it is near KFC and right across the St. Joseph Hospital.
SugarTalk offers a lot, and I mean A LOT, of desserts, and they are best known for their dessert buffet, wherein for just PhP 199, you could eat all you can (or as I like to call it, desert-all-you-can)! Their Dessert Buffet includes all those in the buffet table and ice cream freezer shown above.
You can check out SugarTalk's Facebook page right here.
The Yummys! (or in other words, The Good Stuff)
So where to begin?

to more cakes, more cupcakes, and even more cakes! MOAAAAR CAKES!

...plus more! I stopped taking pictures at this point and started munching on these babies. Check out their FB page (linked above) to see more of their menu which includes, among other, custard cakes and graham balls! Yum!
Okay, so we've established that SugarTalk has a wide variety of desserts to choose from. But what good would a wide menu be if the food ain't good, right? Luckily for us, the desserts in SugarTalk are highly delectable! For instance, look at what I took from the buffet:

Yes, there is free and unlimited ice cream (with toppings to boot!) Plus, you get to select what you would add to your ice cream. The cake was rich and not dry and has a nice texture, the cookies were full of flavors with a crispy outer layer and a softer inside. While I enjoyed some desserts compared to the others, that might simply because of my own personal preference. Just make sure to finish all that you get from the buffet table on your own, or else you have to pay an extra Php 399. The good thing however is that there are no time limits of any kind. So you have all day to finish that one last bite of cake that is left on your plate.
One more good thing about the SugarTalk is that you are not bounded to the Dessert Buffet only. You could actually order from their set menu, so if you want to eat less (but let's be true here, really, eat less?) or take these goodies home, you could totally do it.
Also, that buffet table is not just all dessert! They also include in their buffet table non-dessert items. Like for example, when we ate their yesterday, they served salad, and last Monday during their opening day was nachos. Cakes, ice cream, AND nachos? Sign me up!

I rest my case. |
Another great thing about SugarTalk? The ambiance! The establishment is mainly pink in theme, so it actually feels like you are in some sort of candy paradise (or Cloud Cuckoo Land from the LEGO Movie, if your brain is wired like mine). The cute paintings all over the place also adds to the elegant, but simple yet relaxing ambiance of the place.

Speaking of location, they are right smack near the center of Balanga City, so accessibility is no problem. They also have very accommodating staff to accompany you during your dessert escapades!
Plus they have free service water. Free water is always a plus. I hate establishments that charge you for water.
The Ewys (Or the Not-so-Good Stuff)
There's not many really. The place is a bit tad small, and that might become a problem as the place is starting to pick up steam. You see, if the place becomes too crowded and too noisy, the aformentioned ambiance is slowly lost. But hey, maybe if the SugarTalk continues to become a commercial success, the owners could move to a bigger place.
Also, a comfort room or a wash area would be of big help so that we could munch on these babies with less hesitation. But then again, (1) it's not that big of a problem as a CR is situated nearby (a few steps from the place actually), and again (2) it's due to the current location.
Other than that, nothing else really.
The Final Foodict (The Final Verdict, get it?)
Good food, great menu, very nice ambiance, warm staff, and just overall a place to hang out, be with friends, and give in to your sweet desires. I would definitely go back to it again, and again, and again, and I'd recommend that you give SugarTalk a go, even if you are not a sweet tooth. The experience alone is worth it, what more with all the heaven sent sweet goodies?
Again, I'm no professional food critic, but if I may, I'd give it a personal rating of 4.5 sporks out of five!
