The struggle is real.
Balancing work, school, and whatever is left of my social life is indeed a challenging proposition. That is why I've been on and off in posting here. But for the who-knows-how-many-already time, I'd try to post here a lot more often.
1.) A countdown. The prime time news shows have countdowns to the May 10 elections similar to what they have for Christmas. It is kind of neat, in a way, I think.
Really, this is a struggle. See how I can't write much anymore?
2.) Is it sad that it is easier to choose who not to vote for rather than to choose who to support? For those still on the fence, most of the time it is because we are torn between good choices, each having both good and bad points, and we have to decide what matters more to us. But to actually be in the fence because no one has yet to convince you and all you see is who not to vote? Is it just me, or is this happening to other people too?
I feel like this is what we do during multiple choice exams. We don't know the right answer, so we eliminate what we think is not correct in order to increase our chances into lucking into the correct one.
3.) Voter education (and education, in general) should really be given focus, but you already know that. I just want to share that a couple of days ago, I overheard a conversation about politics while riding the jeepney. Long story short, they seem to look at the Senate as the "third highest position" in the country, next to the President and VP. In a way that these positions have the same qualifications, that the division between the Executive and the Legislative does not exist.
4.) Okay enough of politics and let's go to some other stuff. I attended a seminar earlier, and one of the participants gave the following quote:
"What is beauty, if your grade is seventy?"..to which I thought, heh, if this was in UP, it probably is more like:
"Okay na ang walang beauty, basta ang grade ay umabot ng seventy."
Then again, there are a lot of beautiful AND smart Iskas out there. A lot actually. Heck, a cum laude in our batch is the most beautiful woman in our batch. So there.
5.) Speaking of beautiful woman, how about Miss Pia Wurtzbach? Seriously, just look at this twitter exchange between her and the official Final Fantasy account:
Can I borrow a line from Ms. Pia and say "I just died. Phoenix down please."
She is smart, beautiful, and is a gamer (and not just any gamer, but a FINAL FREAKIN FANTASY FAN).
Holy Bahamut, Pia is just awesome.
6.) Whew, this is probably the longest BWR post ever, as my thoughts are just flowing. Now for something a bit more serious. I hope this is just the overthinker in me, but I sometimes feel like...something similar to smart-shaming, whenever I talk about my passion and love for the country. It feels like the people are looking at me with "masyado naman syang seryoso" eyes. I hope that is not the case as it is starting to somehow disturb me.
7.) But let's end this one on a positive note. Deadpool is out for more than a week now and I...haven't seen it yet. Well, at least the movie hasn't been spoiled for me yet. Yep, I think that is something positive.
